Vitalii B. Korotiuk (Faza)

Soldier Vitaliy Korotyuk (call sign Phaza) was killed on September 6, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Zaliznychne in the Kharkiv region. In October, the defender would have turned 29 years old. Vitaliy was born in the village of Klubivka in the Khmelnytskyi region. After school, he graduated from the Shepetivka Vocational Lyceum, where he obtained a profession as an electrician for the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment. He worked in his specialty. He married and raised two sons: Yaroslav and Dmytro. In his free time, he loved fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Vitaliy was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a sniper in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Roman the Great. He carried out combat missions in various directions. “He was a good person. A kind and gentle man, a loving father. He loved life and work. People respected him. It is very hard to cope with the loss of my husband. Vitaliy is our Hero!” said the wife of the fallen, Natalia. “He served with truth and will for our Ukraine, for independence, for the peace of hearts, and for the future of every Ukrainian. The name of Vitaliy Korotyuk will forever be inscribed in the history of our state. Heroes do not die; they continue to protect us from the heavens,” noted the Izyaslav City Council. The defender was buried in his native village. Vitaliy is survived by his parents, brother, wife, and two sons.
