Vitalii H. Sheliah (Kum)

A 36-year-old volunteer, Vitaliy Shelah (call sign Kum), was killed on April 11, 2022, during the battles on the Izium direction of the Kharkiv region. Vitaliy was born in the city of Cherkasy. He graduated as a programmer from the Cherkasy State Business College. He worked as a private entrepreneur. With the start of the full-scale war, Vitaliy joined the ranks of the volunteer battalion "Karpatska Sich". He was a rifleman. "Rifleman Vitaliy Shelah for a United Ukraine. He was motivated, bellicose, and decisive," said the spokeswoman for the volunteer battalion, Vasylina Nakonechna. "It is hard, very hard to write these lines, because this is my dear neighbor, whom I have known since childhood! A wonderful young man, priceless. Rest in peace, my dear friend, heaven for the Hero! Great condolences to your parents and sister! We will never forget you and never forgive the damned murderers. A low bow to you, Vitalik, to the ground!" wrote the fallen comrade Serhiy Shevchenko. The defender was buried on April 13 at the front line together with five comrades-in-arms. Vitaliy is survived by his parents.
