Vitalii H. Shynhyrii

Soldier Vitaliy Shynhyriy was killed on November 17, 2023. On August 27, the man suffered a stroke. He underwent treatment, first in Dnipro, then in Kyiv. But the doctors were unable to save the 43-year-old man. Vitaliy was born and raised in the village of Khaienty in the Chernihiv region. He graduated from the local 8-year school. During the summer holidays, he worked in the collective farm. He studied at the Ichnyansky vocational school to become a tractor driver. Then he served in the army. After demobilization, he worked as a driver in the local collective farm, a security guard at the airfield, and an agricultural enterprise. On July 24, 2019, he signed a contract for military service in the 1st separate tank brigade. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he participated in the defense of Chernihiv. In March 2022, he was seriously wounded, treated in Chernihiv, and then in Kyiv. After the rehabilitation, which he underwent in Drohobych, Lviv region, he continued his service in his military unit. "Vitaliy was very kind, always smiling, and energetic. He performed any work, not lazy. He constantly came to help in a difficult moment. He loved his family very much," they told about the fallen in the Ichnyansky city council. The defender was buried in his native village. Vitaliy is survived by his wife, daughter, stepdaughter, mother, brother, and sister.
