Vitalii I. Oliinyk (Oskar)

Junior Sergeant Vitaliy Oliynyk (call sign Oscar) was killed in action on March 25, 2022, in Mariupol, Donetsk region. As a result of enemy airstrikes, he received a shrapnel wound. Vitaliy was 26 years old. He was born in the village of Liubomyrka, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the I.I. Mechnikov National University of Odesa. He lived in Olhopil. He was not employed. During the full-scale war, he defended Ukraine as part of the separate special purpose unit of the NGU "Azov". He served as an artilleryman, instructor. He was awarded the distinction "Veteran of War", a certificate from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and posthumously - the Order "For Courage" III degree. "My son was a brave warrior, a fair and strong-spirited person," wrote his mother, Larisa Oliynyk. The defender was buried in the cemetery in Olhopil. Vitaliy is survived by his parents and sister.
