- Born on May 20, 1978, in the city of Vasylkiv, Kyiv Oblast. Graduated from a general education school. Served mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Lived in the village of Barativka, Novobuzky District, Mykolaiv Oblast. On March 28, 2015, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a mechanic-driver in the mechanized company of the 28th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0666 (field post V0095), the urban-type settlement of Chornomorske, Kominternivskyi District (since 2016 - Lymanskyi District), Odesa Oblast). From spring-summer 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On the night of September 5, 2015, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the city of Kurakhove, Marinka District, Donetsk Oblast, a group of soldiers, including soldier Reshetnyak, came under enemy artillery fire. As a result of the shelling, Vitaliy Reshetnyak sustained serious injuries. The serviceman was evacuated to a hospital in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro), where he died from his injuries on September 6, 2015. On September 9, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Barativka, Novobuzky District, Mykolaiv Oblast.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
