Vitalii O. Burym

Vitaliy Oleksiyovych Burym was born on June 12, 1983, in the city of Konotop, Sumy region. He studied at Konotop Specialized School No. 3. He graduated from Romny Agricultural College with a specialty in "Mechanic of Agricultural Machinery." From 2000 to 2002, he served his mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He then signed a contract with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He served in the Sumy Border Detachment (post "Stara Huta"). During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he participated in the battles for the city of Chernihiv. Killed in action on February 26, 2022. For personal bravery and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Vitaliy Oleksiyovych Burym was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree.
