Vitalii O. Posliedov (Hrek)

Lieutenant Vitaliy Posledov (call sign Greek) was killed in action on April 5, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Dovhenke in the Kharkiv region. In March, the officer turned 28. Vitaliy was born in the village of Novyi Chartoryysk, Volyn region, in a large family. In 2021, he graduated from the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny in Lviv. After graduation, he was sent to serve in Zhytomyr. Vitaliy served in the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He commanded the engineering and sapper platoon. From the first days of the full-scale war, the officer, together with his unit, defended Ukraine from Russian invaders. He performed combat missions on the front line and believed in victory. However, it was not destined for him to see it. "Vitaliy was a kind and bright person, always smiling and positive. He dreamed of becoming a military man since childhood. He always approached his duties with great responsibility, which is why he was respected among colleagues. He was never afraid of difficulties and always took on challenges that came his way in life. He was a loving husband, son, and brother. Vitaliy loved life very much, rejoiced in every little thing... It is impossible to remember every moment spent together without tears and pain in the heart, but the memory of him will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him... Because Heroes never die!", said his widow, Marina. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. Vitaliy is survived by his wife, parents, and a large family. Posthumously, Vitaliy was awarded the rank of senior lieutenant and was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree.
