- 37-year-old anti-aircraft gunner Vitaliy Strygun died in a hospital in Dnipro on November 20, 2022. A week earlier, the warrior received serious injuries while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region. Doctors tried to save the serviceman's life until the end. Vitaliy was born in Zolotonosha, Cherkasy region. He graduated from Zolotonosha Secondary School No. 3. In 2002, he entered the Cherkasy Institute of Banking. He received an education in the specialty "Accounting and Audit". After completing military service, he worked at the Zolotonosha United State Tax Inspectorate, and later found a job at the local oil mill. In February 2022, the man passed a competitive selection for the position of director of the municipal enterprise "Nadiya" in the Novodmytrivska village council. But the full-scale Russian offensive disrupted the man's plans. From the first days of the war, Vitaliy voluntarily defended his Motherland. "He was friendly, generous, smiling, and a good comrade. Communicating with him always brought positive emotions. It is difficult to find words of comfort, it is impossible to heal the pain and bitterness of losing a loved one. May the good, bright memory of the defender Vitaliy become stronger than death and forever remain in the hearts of relatives, friends, classmates, comrades-in-arms, and all who knew him, loved and respected him. We mourn together with the family, bowing our heads in sorrow. Heroes do not die, they remain in our hearts!" - said the teaching staff of Zolotonosha Secondary School No. 3. "My dear child, we did not wish such a fate for you. We dreamed of care in old age, rejoiced in your friendly, happy family. My heart is torn with pain when I think that I will not see your always smiling face and hear your 'Mom, hello'," wrote the warrior's mother Svitlana Strygun. Vitaliy was buried on the Alley of Glory in Zolotonosha. The warrior is survived by a daughter, wife, and parents.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
