- Vitaliy Korogovskyi (call sign Coyote), a 21-year-old, was killed on November 5, 2022, from shrapnel wounds near the village of Novosilka in the Luhansk region. The defender was born in the village of Chervona Polyana in the Kharkiv region. After finishing high school, he studied at the Barvinkove Vocational Agricultural Lyceum, where he obtained the specialty of tractor-machinist. He loved fishing very much. He dreamed of buying an apartment in Kramatorsk. At the age of 18, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the reconnaissance company of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. He defended Ukraine near the city of Popasna in the Luhansk region. He met the full-scale invasion on the Kharkiv direction as part of the same 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. Later, he underwent training in Lviv and received the military specialty of BTR-4E gunner-operator. "When the full-scale invasion began, he called us. Dad offered that Vitaliy should return home, and he would go serve instead of him. We wanted our son to go abroad and study there, because since the age of 18 he has been at war and did not have the opportunity to obtain a higher education. To which our son replied that he would not go anywhere, but would fight and defend Ukraine. He said: 'They came to the land where I live. I will defend it,'" Larysa Vasylivna, his mother, said. "There will be no more like Coyote, he knew how to do what even the most hardened soldiers couldn't. Thanks to him, we returned from combat missions alive. He always went first," a comrade-in-arms said. The defender was buried in the village of Semylanne in the Kharkiv region. Vitaliy is survived by his parents and brother. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, his mother baked all kinds of treats for the front. After Vitaliy's death, she opened a bakery in his honor in the city of Barvinkove. Vitaliy Korogovskyi was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and the War Veteran Medal.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
