Vitalii S. Makarov (Makar)

Senior Sergeant Vitaliy Makarov (call sign Makar) was killed on June 7, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the village of Novodanilivka, Zaporizhzhia region. The defender was 27 years old. Vitaliy was born in Lviv. After school, he graduated from the Stavropihiian Higher Vocational School, where he obtained the profession of an automotive mechanic. He loved to solder various structures, play computer games, and sharpen knives. He was engaged in programming and created websites. At the age of 20, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After completing a 3-year contract, he worked abroad. The last 5 years he lived with his family in the city of Dubno. When the full-scale invasion began, Vitaliy again stood up to defend his native country. He served in the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of tank commander. "Vitalik was a bright, positive, and cheerful person. He was probably born to be a soldier, because in civilian life, he very much missed military service, the tank. He always said that he would live because the occupant who could kill him was not yet born. I miss him very much. But I often see him in our son," his wife Anastasia said. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory in the city of Dubno. Vitaliy left behind a son, wife, and mother. During his lifetime, the warrior was awarded the "War Veteran" and "Golden Cross" badges, and posthumously - the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal. Vitaliy Makarov was also posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Dubno".
