Vitalii S. Moroz (Moroz)

Captain Vitaliy Moroz (call sign Frost) was killed in action on April 15, 2022, during the defense of Mariupol. Russian military dropped an aviation bomb from an aircraft on the defenders of "Azovstal". The fighter had time to write a message to his wife and lie down to sleep, and half an hour later found himself under the rubble. Vitaliy was 29 years old. He was born in Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia region. He grew up caring, well-mannered, and obedient. He stu well, was engaged in a yacht club. When he grew up, he dreamed of becoming a pilot. He first stu at the municipal lyceum of his hometown, received the profession of a secretary of the head. And in 2015, he graduated from Berdyansk State Pedagogical University with a degree in "Technical Education". He received a qualification as a teacher of technology, vocational training, and drawing. At the same time, he stu at the military department. He worked at a school as a labor teacher. In his free time, he was interested in motorcycles and cars. About such people as Vitaliy, they say - a handyman. He could repair and paint a car, and he almost never went to a car repair shop. And in a private house where he lived with his family, he did everything with his own hands. He arranged the territory around, a sandbox for his son, planned to make a gazebo. At the end of 2017, Vitaliy joined the separate special purpose unit "Azov". He held the position of communication center commander. The battalion was stationed in the village of Yurievka, Mariupol district. That's where Vitaliy was caught by the full-scale Russian invasion. He was awarded the distinction "For Military Service to Ukraine", and posthumously - the Order "For Courage" III degree. "He was calm, very kind, caring, always helped everyone. Even if someone did something wrong, Vitaliy would correct it himself. At home, he helped us when he returned from service. And he could cook deliciously," said his wife, Yulia. On February 28, 2023, Vitaliy Moroz was cremated in Kyiv. Now his urn with ashes is kept in the columbarium at Baikove Cemetery. The defender left behind his wife, son, mother, sister, and younger brother.
