Vitalii S. Pohorilchuk

Paratrooper Vitaliy Pohorilchuk was killed on February 26, 2022, near Shylova Balka in the Kherson region. That night, during shelling, he was evacuating wounded comrades from the battlefield. An enemy SU-25 hit their armored personnel carrier directly, resulting in Vitaliy sustaining fatal injuries. He was 22 years old. Vitaliy was born in the village of Holiky in the Khmelnytskyi region. In 2014, he graduated from Varvarivka Secondary School I-III degrees. In 2018, he obtained a degree in mechanics for repairing engines and vehicles at the Rivne Transport Vocational College. In 2020, Vitaliy enlisted under contract in the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. He carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). During the full-scale invasion of the Russian army, he participated in the defense of the Kherson region. He was buried with military honors in his native village. Vitaliy's older brother was killed in this war in July 2022. They served in the same brigade. Only his mother remains from his family. He did not have time to start his own family.
