Vitalii S. Tertychnyi

40-year-old soldier Vitaliy Tertychnyi (call sign Kachur) died in the hospital on December 4, 2022. He sustained severe injuries in the Avdiivka area in Donetsk region. Then, while returning from a combat mission, a group of defenders came under enemy mortar fire. They were tracked by a drone. Vitaliy was born and lived in Kaniv, Cherkasy region. He studied at school No. 6. Then he graduated from the Maslivskyi Agrarian Technical School. He worked as the director of a cemetery at the municipal enterprise "City". In his free time, he loved to dry meat and make cheeses. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. With the start of the full-scale war, the man took up arms again and went to the front. He served in the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Lieutenant Marko Bezruchko. He was a sapper. "My beloved was a person with a big heart, a bright soul and a sincere smile. The best in all the roles he carried through life," said the defender's wife Anzhela. The warrior was buried in the central cemetery in his hometown. Vitaliy is survived by his parents, wife, son and daughter. The warrior was posthumously awarded the medal "Defender of the Fatherland" and the award "For Merits to the City of Kaniv".
