Vitalii V. Baranovskyi (Bro)

Soldier Vitaliy Baranovskyi (call sign Bro) was killed on May 19, 2023 near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. While performing his duties, he suffered fatal injuries as a result of enemy drone strikes. Four days prior, on May 15, the warrior turned 48 years old. Vitaliy was born in the village of Stara Zhadova, Chernivtsi region. He attended the local secondary school. He then served his compulsory military service. All his life, he worked as a carpenter in a furniture workshop. When the full-scale war began, Vitaliy immediately went to the military enlistment office. He had a damaged hand, so he was not mobilized right away. However, he insisted and went to fight. He served in the 57th separate rifle battalion (military unit A4436), holding the position of a rifleman-assistant grenadier. "He lived with us in the same house for over 10 years. We lost an exceptionally optimistic, polite, sociable and bright person who always helped everyone. They say about such people: the life of the party," said Oksana Baranovska, the wife of the deceased's brother. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Vitaliy was awaited by his parents, brother, sister, two sons, loving relatives and friends.
