Vitalii V. Busniuk

Busniuk Vitalii Volodymyrovych was born on August 11, 1997, in the village of Chervonyi Kut, Uman District, Cherkasy Region. In July 2017, Vitalii graduated from the Talianky Agrarian Technical College of the Uman National University of Horticulture, where he obtained a secondary-specialized education. On March 12, 2022, Senior Soldier Busniuk was dispatched to the Kyiv region to repel the advance of Russian troops on Kyiv. Later, the guardsman, as part of a battalion tactical group, headed to Eastern Ukraine. From April 29, 2022, while in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Vitalii diligently carried out combat missions to repel the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. On December 31, 2022, the guardsman was conducting reconnaissance in the area of the city of Kreminna in Luhansk region. Under constant enemy artillery fire, Senior Soldier Busniuk transmitted data on the movements of Russian troops to the command of the battalion tactical group, ensuring coordination with the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in that area. However, the position where Vitalii was located was soon shelled by the enemy, resulting in the serviceman sustaining serious injuries. Around 15:30, Vitalii Busniuk died from his injuries. The guardsman was buried in his native village of Chervonyi Kut on January 4, 2023. For personal courage and selflessness demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for his diligent and impeccable service to the Ukrainian people, Senior Soldier Busniuk Vitalii Volodymyrovych was posthumously awarded the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine."
