Biography
Chaliy Vitaliy Volodymyrovych was born on March 23, 1976, in the city of Hlukhiv, Sumy region. He worked at a factory for a long time. In 2020, he signed a contract with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He took up the defense of his native land from the very first moments of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, being directly at the firing positions where fierce battles were taking place. On February 24, 2022, he fell in battle, bravely and unyieldingly, from an enemy bullet near the city of Shchastia in Luhansk region. After his body was returned to Ukraine during a prisoner exchange, Vitaliy Chaliy was reburied on March 30, 2023, at the Voznesensky Cemetery in Hlukhiv. He is survived by his father, sister, wife, and son. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to his military oath, Vitaliy Volodymyrovych Chaliy was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Burial place
