- Lieutenant Vitaliy Danylchenko (call sign Poltava) was killed in battle against the occupiers on December 16, 2022. Near the settlement of Spirne in the Donetsk region, the officer received a fatal gunshot wound. The warrior was 22 years old. Vitaliy was born and lived in the city of Khorol, Poltava region. He stuwas killed at the Khorol Agro-Industrial College, majoring in "Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics". He graduated from the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University by correspondence. He worked in the security service. He was passionate about cars. During the full-scale war, Vitaliy fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He commanded a platoon of the 108th battalion of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade. In October 2022, he got married and went to the front line, from where he did not return. "Instead of my warm hugs, death took you into its cold embrace. You were always an example to me of the best man, a courageous, brave, spiritually strong and loving Warrior who defended his country until his last breath," wrote his wife Nadia. "All friends, colleagues, acquaintances who knew Vitaliy personally, remember his bright image, not reconciling with the loss of a good comrade, an optimist, a life-lover with a great sense of humor, a high level of responsibility, honesty and decency. Vitaliy achieved great success in studies, sports, but his military career from a cadet of a flight school to a platoon commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, unfortunately, ended tragically. He left behind his parents and wife. The couple was only two months married. On October 5, during a short front-line vacation, the couple got married. However, instead of family idyll, the joy of children, fate brought the terrible war and parted the young beautiful couple forever..." - told in the Khorol City Council.
