Vitalii V. Koval (Zek)

Vitalii Volodymyrovich Koval was born on October 25, 1996 in Ternopil. He graduated from Ternopil General School-Economic Lyceum No. 9 named after Ivanna Blazhkevych, Ternopil Higher Vocational School of Technology and Design. He worked abroad. On the second day of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he took up the defense of his native land. He voluntarily joined the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces. On March 30, 2022, he officially signed a contract. At first, he served in the Ternopil region, and on June 26, 2022, he went to "Azov", where he underwent a full course of military training. He was an operator of the 4th anti-tank platoon of the 1st assault battalion of military unit A 4638. He died on November 28, 2022 during the performance of a combat mission in the Donetsk region. Vitalii's comrades-in-arms told his mother that her son was not among the living, he died while delivering ammunition to his comrades. From November 28, 2022, the warrior was officially listed as missing, and his body was in an area from which it could not be retrieved. Vitalii's body was returned during the exchange. He was buried on December 20, 2022 on the Alley of Heroes of the Mykulyntsi Cemetery in Ternopil.
