Vitalii V. Mazuryk

Sergeant Vitaliy Mazuryk (call sign Poet) died on February 10, 2024 near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, he came under enemy air strikes with guided aerial bombs and received numerous fatal injuries. The defender was 50 years old. Vitaliy was born in the village of Krynychne, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from the Ustynivka secondary school of I-III degrees. He served 2 years in the army in Latvia. When he returned home, he found a job. He worked at a brick factory, in the utility sector, in forestry, and in the funeral services, and also went to work abroad. He lived with his family in the village of Borisivka in the Vinnytsia region. He wrote poems. He loved fishing and sports. He adored resting with his family. The family had a tradition: to go to the forest every weekend, and in winter - to go sledding. During the full-scale war, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a squad commander in a mortar battery. "Vitaliy died, and with him I died. He was the man who no longer exists in the world. The man with whom I wanted to fall asleep and wake up in the morning. Who understood me and the children in half a word. I just thought, and he was already doing it. My universe, without you it's hard. I love you from earth to sky. We will meet you on the clouds," his wife Alla wrote. Vitaliy was buried in his native village of Krynychne. This was his request before the last combat mission - to be buried next to his father. The defender left behind his mother, brother, wife, and two children.
