Biography
Parkhomuk Vitaliy Vasylovych was born on June 5, 1984, in the village of Zabolyttia, Volyn region. He served as a tank driver in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade. During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he heroically fulfilled his duty on the northern borders of Ukraine. On March 8, 2022, three tank crews from the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade participated in the battle for the liberation of the village of Makariv in the Kyiv region from Russian occupiers. From the first shot, the tank crews managed to hit the main vehicle, while the other two tanks provided fire support. One by one, enemy vehicles burst into flames from accurate shots. The infantry began to flee, and later Russian soldiers discovered the positions of our tank drivers and called in artillery. By maneuvering, our tank crews destroyed the enemy. The tank in which Vitaliy Parkhomuk was located flanked the enemy and began firing high-explosive shells, driving out the infantry. Together, the three Ukrainian tank crews destroyed six enemy vehicles and a significant number of enemy personnel during the battle. Thus, the enemy was pushed back, and eventually, during the counteroffensive, Ukrainian forces liberated the village of Makariv in the Kyiv region from the occupiers. However, an enemy guided anti-tank missile hit the Ukrainian T-64BV tank: the ammunition exploded, and the turret was blown off, resulting in the entire crew of the tank being killed in battle. He was reburied on January 3, 2024, in the village of Zabolyttia in Volyn. The hero is survived by his father, sister, wife, and daughter.Burial place
