- Vitaly Poleshchuk, the commander of the artillery gun, died on July 31, 2023, during enemy artillery shelling near the village of Novodanilivka in the Zaporizhia region. The defender was 32 years old. The fighter was born in Zhovti Vody, Dnipropetrovsk region. In childhood, he moved with his parents to Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv Electromechanical Technical School of Railway Transport named after M. Ostrovsky. After getting married, he moved to the city of Bakhmach, Chernihiv region. He worked at the Kyiv Mechanical Plant, then at the Bakhmach Carriage Depot. Later, he got a job in the ATB store network, and in recent years, he tried to start his own business. All his life, he was passionate about music. He played acoustic and electric guitar, but he loved playing drums the most. He was a drummer in rock and metal bands, with whom he performed in Kyiv, Rivne, Baturyn, and Bakhmach. During the full-scale war, he voluntarily joined the 117th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was the commander of the gun of the 2nd artillery platoon of the 2nd artillery battery of the artillery division. "Vitaly was the calmest and most selfless person I knew. We all miss his wise thoughts and wise advice very much," said his wife Yulia. The defender was buried in the city of Bakhmach, Chernihiv region. Vitaly is survived by his parents, wife, and daughter. The warrior was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
