Vitalii V. Poremskyi (Vitos)

A 22-year-old artilleryman, Vitaliy Poremsky, was killed in action on April 22, 2022, during artillery shelling near the city of Popasna in Luhansk region. Vitaliy was born in the village of Hordiyivka, Zhytomyr region. As a child, he moved with his family to the urban-type settlement of Poninka in Khmelnytskyi region. He completed school and a vocational lyceum there. In 2019, he began serving under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a gunner of the self-propelled artillery unit "Gvozdika" in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. From the first days of the full-scale war, he defended Donbas alongside his comrades. "He was a very kind and sincere person, never complained about anything. When Vitalichok had the opportunity to call me during the war, he always said that everything was fine, so I wouldn't worry. But it was real hell there - we found out about it later, when he was no longer with us. Vitalichok dreamed of the war ending as soon as possible. He planned to return home, get married, and start living. Because since he was 19, he had only seen the training ground and war. Defending our native Ukraine, he gave the most precious thing he had - his life," says the mother of the deceased, Vita Poremska. The defender was buried in his native village in Zhytomyr region. Vitaliy is survived by his parents, brother, and sister. Posthumously, Senior Soldier Vitaliy Poremsky was awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.
