Vitalii V. Shyrokov

Born on October 20, 1981, in the city of Oleksandriya, Kirovohrad region. Graduated from 9 grades of Oleksandriya Secondary School No. 9, then from Vocational Technical School No. 7 in Oleksandriya. Served mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Worked at a company that produced monuments. On February 18, 2015, mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a shooter in the sniper company of the 30th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409 (field post V2731), city of Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr region). From spring-summer 2015, participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On August 14, 2015, Junior Sergeant Shyrokov died of a heart attack during an artillery shelling of the brigade's positions near the village of Troitske, Popasna district, Luhansk region. On August 17, 2015, he was buried at the Verblozivske cemetery in Oleksandriya.
