Vitalii V. Volkov (Killua)

Junior Sergeant Vitalii Volkov (call sign Killua) was killed on May 26, 2023, in battle with Russian occupiers in the area of Volodymyrivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior was forever 23 years old. Vitaliy was born in the village of Plesetskoye, Kyiv region. He lived in the capital. He studied at Lyceum-Boarding School No. 23 "Cadet Corps". In 2022, he graduated with a red diploma from the National Aviation University with a degree in "Telecommunications and Radio Engineering". After graduation, the young man immediately went to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his Homeland during the full-scale war. Vitaliy served in the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He held the position of assault rifleman. "He never believed that war would come to us. When it happened, he finished university and without hesitation immediately went to defend the independence and sovereignty of his state," said the deceased's brother Vladislav. "He was a good student, a decent person, respected by teachers and classmates," the NAU noted. Vitaliy was buried in the village of Suvyd, Kyiv region. The defender left behind a brother and an aunt. The young hero was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
