- Soldier-machine gunner Vitaliy Kilyushyk was killed on December 4, 2022, during enemy artillery shelling near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the defender received fatal shrapnel wounds. He was 27 years old. Vitaliy was born in the city of Kuznetsovsk (now Varash) in the Rivne region. He stuwas killed at schools No. 3 and No. 1 there. After completing the 9th grade, he stuwas killed at vocational school No. 12 to become a mason. He then worked on construction sites in Rivne, Lutsk, and Odesa. He was not afraid to take on any job. Near his home, he had a pond and enjoyed fishing from time to time. Shortly before the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he began repairing furniture. Vitaliy was mobilized in mid-September 2022. After two months of training at the Yavoriv training ground, he was sent to the combat zone together with his comrades from the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. "When Vitaliy received the summons, he reacted calmly. They asked him how his parents would perceive it, since our younger brother Valik was also serving at the time. Vitalik replied: 'My parents are patriots,'" said the warrior's brother Oleksandr Kilyushyk. In Bakhmut, the serviceman was there for several weeks. On December 4, he took up a shift on the zero position, but never returned. "The Russian world through my eyes," Vitaliy Kilyushyk signed a photo of a bombed-out supermarket that he sent from Bakhmut to his brother Oleksandr. The hero was buried in the cemetery in the village of Stara Rafalivka in the Rivne region. Vitaliy left behind two children: a daughter and a son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
