- Vladislav Eduardovych Hruzhevych was born on June 28, 1994, in Mariupol, Donetsk region. In 2012, Vladislav Hruzhevych signed a contract for military service in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. From August 2017, he served in the military and ensured the protection of state borders in the area of responsibility of the 1st Border Detachment, where he directly participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and the Joint Forces Operation (JFO), facilitating its conduct and deterring the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. On February 24, 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, Major Vladislav Hruzhevych bravely confronted the Russian aggressor. From the first days of the invasion, the border guard fought side by side with servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the separate special purpose unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov," courageously and selflessly performing combat tasks to defend Mariupol under conditions of complete blockade. On April 12, 2022, while moving along Haharina Street towards Lunina Avenue in Mariupol, a group from the 1st Border Detachment, which included Major Vladislav Hruzhevych, came under enemy ambush, which opened fire from a high-rise building. As a result of the battle, the enemy was partially destroyed. Subsequently, during a check of the group's composition, the servicemen discovered Vladislav's absence. Search efforts yielded no results. On January 25, 2023, based on a court decision recognizing the fact of death, the Department of State Registration of Civil Status Acts in Kyiv issued a death certificate for Vladislav Hruzhevych. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to military oath, Major Vladislav Eduardovych Hruzhevych was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
