Vladyslav M. Karpun

Born on July 27, 1998, in the village of Velyka Rublivka, Kotelva District, Poltava Oblast. Graduated from the general education school in the village of Velyka Rublivka. In August 2016, he enlisted in the military service under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent military training at the 169th Training Center of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0665, the urban-type settlement of Desna, Kozelets District, Chernihiv Oblast). He served as a shooter in the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the 16th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Operational Command "North" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A4590 (field post V2287), the city of Hlukhiv, Sumy Oblast). He participated in the anti-terrorist operation / joint forces operation in eastern Ukraine. On September 7, 2018, around 1:30 PM, during a fire confrontation, while in the positions of the Ukrainian military near the urban-type settlement of Novhorodske, Toretsk City Council, Donetsk Oblast, Senior Soldier Vladislav Karpun received a penetrating gunshot wound to the chest. The battalion's mobile evacuation group provided first aid to the serviceman and transported him to the hospital, where military doctors fought for the life of the wounded for six hours. However, the efforts of the medics proved futile, and at around 1:00 AM on September 8, 2018, Senior Soldier Vladislav Karpun died from his injuries. On September 11, 2018, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Velyka Rublivka, Kotelva District, Poltava Oblast.
