Vladyslav S. Honcharenko

Senior soldier Vladislav Goncharenko was killed in action on June 27, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Dementiivka in Kharkiv region. The 22-year-old defender, covering his comrades, received fatal injuries during an enemy artillery shelling. Vladislav was born in the city of Izyum, Kharkiv region. He graduated from Izyum Professional Lyceum, received the profession of a painter-plasterer. He loved spending time with friends. In 2018, he went to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2019, he signed a contract for military service and performed combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. During the full-scale war, Vladislav defended Ukraine as part of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Cossack chieftain Ivan Sirko. Together with his comrades, the fighter defended his native Kharkiv region to the last breath. "He was a very kind, sensitive, cheerful and bright person, always helped friends in difficult times," said Yulia, the mother of the deceased fighter's friend. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory in Kharkiv. Vladislav's parents, sisters, and brother remained.
