Vladyslav S. Kosenkov (Lev)

Senior soldier Vladislav Kosenkov (call sign Artist) was killed on September 11, 2022, near the village of Bezimenne in the Kherson region. While carrying out a combat mission, he came under enemy artillery fire and sustained fatal injuries. Two weeks prior, on August 31, the soldier turned 22 years old. Vladislav was born in the village of Mykolaivka in the Mykolaiv region. He graduated from the local school and then obtained a profession as a cook and pastry chef at a vocational school. He always dedicated his free time to sports, particularly loving football. After completing his education, he served in the military on conscription. He decided to stay in the army. In 2018, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since then, he served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. He was a sapper and participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. In 2021, he met his future wife and married her that same year. He faced the full-scale invasion alongside his comrades in the Luhansk region. From the first days, Vladislav continued to defend the integrity and independence of his native Ukraine. As part of his unit, he defended Luhansk, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions. "Vladislav was very kind, brave, always positive. He loved his family and life. He dreamed of children, his own house, and traveling..." his wife noted. The soldier was buried in the village of Starychi in the Lviv region. Vladislav is survived by his mother Oksana, wife Anna, sisters Veronika and Ilona, and brothers Danilo and Yevhen.
