Vladyslav V. Khirnyi (Chornyi)

Soldier Vladislav Khirnyi (call sign Chorny) was killed on September 10, 2022, during the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region. In the area of the village of Veselie, the warrior received fatal injuries. On September 28, he would have turned 50 years old. Vladislav was born in Potsdam (Germany). He lived in Sarny, Rivne region. After school, he received secondary specialized education at the Sarnenske Higher Vocational School No. 22. In civilian life, he worked as a builder. He was interested in history, loved watching movies and reading books about the war. He devoted his free time to his favorite hobbies - fishing and hunting. In the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the Sarny security company. Later, in early May 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Vladislav held the position of rifleman in the 14th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. "Dad was kind, cheerful, brave, sincere, caring, positive. He helped everyone. He was a patriot of our country and fought to the last breath," said Olena Khirna. Vladislav was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the "Novoe" cemetery in Sarny. At home, he was awaited by his mother, brother, wife, daughter, son and grandson. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
