Volodymyr A. Korniichyk

Warrior of the Territorial Defense Forces Volodymyr Korniichyk was killed on March 3, 2022 during the defense of Chernihiv. The military was in a local school when an enemy missile hit it. He was 56 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Perekhodivka, Chernihiv region. After finishing school, he obtained the profession of a turner at vocational school No. 18 in Nizhyn. He served in the army, was in Afghanistan. When he returned, he worked in his specialty, and then became the head of the Perekhodivskyi rural club. He lived in Chernihiv. He was a talented, creative person. A man with golden hands. He was fond of landscape design. He adored his country house. He put his whole soul into it. He made an extremely cozy and beautiful place for recreation there. On the third day of the full-scale invasion, Volodymyr joined the ranks of the 119th separate brigade of the territorial defense and stood up to defend Chernihiv. "My father was a man with a capital letter, not just a father, but a true friend, mentor, talented, creative person, strong and brave, an example for everyone. It is impossible to convey in words how much we miss him. My heart is breaking with pain," his daughter Liudmyla said. The defender was buried in the cemetery in Yalivshchyna, Chernihiv region. Volodymyr is survived by a brother, wife, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter.
