Volodymyr A. Maltsev (Kopchenyi)

Born on May 17, 1983, in the village of Lykhachiv, Nosivskyi district, Chernihiv region. In 2000, he graduated from the general education school of the village of Lykhachiv, Nosivskyi district, then from Mryn Vocational School No. 33 (village of Mryn, Nosivskyi district, Chernihiv region) and obtained the profession of "Tractor Driver." From May 2003 to November 2004, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (city of Bolhrad, Odesa region). In 2005-2007, he served in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv. From 2007 to 2014, he worked in various positions at the Closed Joint Stock Company "Zhytomyr Stroypomoshch" in the city of Zhytomyr. Since December 7, 2014, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training at the 169th Training Center of the Ground Forces (military unit A0665, urban-type settlement Desna, Kozelets district, Chernihiv region), then served as part of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Operational Command "East" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0693 (field post V2970), city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region). Since February 11, 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Kopchenyi." In February 2015, during the battles for the city of Debaltseve, Donetsk region, he sustained a concussion, after which he was treated at the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Northern Region (city of Kharkiv). On December 1, 2017, Junior Sergeant Maltsev received serious injuries during a mortar shelling with 120-mm shells at a company stronghold in the area of the village of Troitske, Popasna district, Luhansk region. He was then evacuated to a hospital in the city of Popasna, where he died on December 2, 2017, from his injuries. On December 5, 2017, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Lykhachiv, Nosivskyi district.
