Volodymyr A. Shevchenko (Zmei)

Serviceman Volodymyr Shevchenko (call sign Snake) was killed on December 15, 2022 in the village of Nevske in the Luhansk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the defender came under artillery fire. Volodymyr was 41 years old. He was born in the village of Velyka Homilsha, Kharkiv region. He lived in the city of Pervomaisky. He mastered the profession of a driver at vocational school No. 53 in Chuhuiv. He worked in this profession for almost his entire life. And before the start of the full-scale war, he acquired a new profession - a meat trimmer. He worked at a meat processing plant. In his free time, he adored fishing. He took up the defense of Ukraine, joining the ranks of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He served in the radiation, chemical and biological protection unit. He held the position of driver-chemist. "My husband was a kind, reliable, hardworking man. He loved life and never gave up in difficult life circumstances. He always believed that everything would be fine," said Kateryna Shevchenko. Volodymyr is survived by his wife, son and mother.
