Volodymyr A. Yanchuk

Senior soldier Volodymyr Yanchuk was killed on September 27, 2023 near the village of Pervomaisky in the Donetsk region. He sustained an explosive injury while shielding his comrades. On October 1, the defender would have turned 36 years old. Volodymyr was from the village of Hnatky in the Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the local high school, then enrolled in the Kozeiatyn Railway Technical School, where he obtained the profession of locomotive assistant. When he got married, he moved with his family to the village of Stina. His last place of work was the Vinnytsia poultry farm. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he served as part of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He was a rifleman of the 3rd rifle platoon, 2nd rifle company, 2nd rifle battalion. "He was an incredible person - a caring and loving husband and father, a wonderful son, a good brother, a brave warrior. He always came to the aid of his loved ones," said his wife Vitalina Yanchuk. Volodymyr was buried in the cemetery in the village of Stina. The warrior is survived by his wife, two sons, parents and sister.
