- Senior Lieutenant Volodymyr Siry (call sign Wolf) was killed on September 11, 2022 during the assault in the area of the settlement of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region. The officer was 26 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Pyrizhna, Odesa region. After graduating from school, he entered the Kherson Faculty of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs. He studied for a year and realized that his calling was to be a military man. He left his studies and returned home. He received a summons and went to serve in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. Later he signed a contract. He entered the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was the senior sergeant of the course. After graduation, he was sent to serve in the 8th Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine named after Ivan Bohun, which in 2022 was reorganized into the 14th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. There, Volodymyr held the position of commander of an operational platoon on armored personnel carriers. Later, together with the unit, he carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. He fought in the Luhansk region. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the officer continued to defend the Luhansk region from the occupiers. He took part in the battles for Sievierodonetsk, Siversk, Bilohorivka. "My dear brother was a just and very kind person. He repeatedly saved the lives of soldiers thanks to his ability to make important decisions quickly. He dreamed of finishing the war, having children and living peacefully in a free Ukraine," said the deceased's brother Roman. The defender was buried in his native village. Volodymyr is survived by his parents, wife and brothers. Posthumously, Senior Lieutenant Volodymyr Siry was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
