Volodymyr I. Karpliuk (Tykhyi)

Paratrooper Volodymyr Karplyuk was killed on June 19, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Dolyna in the Donetsk region. An enemy shell hit the trench where the defender was located. In July, the warrior would have turned 28 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Yarun, Zhytomyr region. He stuwas killed at the local school. Then he obtained the profession of an automotive mechanic at a higher vocational technical school. After graduation, he worked as a construction worker. In his free time, he went hunting. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Volodymyr defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 90th separate airmobile battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov of the 81st airmobile brigade. He was a senior gunner. "Vova was a patriot of his country. He was faithful to the military oath. His comrades-in-arms respected him and could always rely on him. He was a courageous, brave, just and honest person. The forest, nature, animals, plants - this was his element. In the war, he led his brigade out of the forest, as he was well oriented in such areas," said the defender's wife, Nadia. Volodymyr was buried in his native village. The serviceman is survived by his mother, wife, son, brothers and sisters.
