- Territorial defense fighter Volodymyr Lynskyi (call sign Phoenix) was killed on September 20, 2022, near the city of Lyman in his native Donetsk region. In August, the defender turned 57 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Bilenke in the Donetsk region. He lived in the city of Kramatorsk. He fought for Donbas since 2014 and participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). For many years, he was the leader of the local branch of the "Right Sector," which was later renamed the public organization "State Initiative of Yarosh." He organized and participated in many local patriotic events. In 2020, during the local elections, Volodymyr ran for the Kramatorsk City Council. He was included in the open candidate lists from the "European Solidarity" party for the local council elections. He was also the head of the committee on ATO/Joint Forces Operation issues of the public council at the Donetsk Regional State Administration. With the onset of the full-scale invasion, Volodymyr joined the territorial defense and returned to the front lines to fight the occupiers. "We went to the military enlistment office together and didn't part ways for all 7 months, we carried out tasks together. I will tell you how he fought: he fought fiercely, like a true warrior, never refusing any task. I know about his leg and knee issues, how he was in pain. But friend Phoenix constantly went anywhere. I can say that commanders asked him for advice as a person experienced in life. But he turned out to be an experienced warrior as well... We crossed the Donets together... He fought fiercely, his eyes were burning, and he like a warrior," said his comrade Maxim during the farewell to the defender. Volodymyr was buried in his native village in Donetsk region. He is survived by his wife. A few years ago, their son was killed in the war.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
