Biography
Lysenko Volodymyr Ivanovych was born on June 25, 1967, in the city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region. He was repeatedly elected as a deputy of the Okhtyrka City Council. In 2014, he ran as a candidate for the position of the mayor of Okhtyrka. He was the head of a private enterprise. He participated in the Revolution of Dignity. He was actively engaged in volunteer work. He was a member of the public organization "Union of ATO and OOS Warriors of the Russian-Ukrainian War 'Unconquered'." Shortly after Russia's attack on Ukraine, Volodymyr Lysenko, as part of the 15th separate motorized infantry battalion "Sumy," participated in combat operations in the Luhansk region. In 2016, he was discharged to the reserve. At that time, he began to provide ammunition for his comrades. Many efforts were directed towards the development and improvement of his hometown Okhtyrka, supporting the families of his comrades, and preserving their memory. When the 154th separate battalion of the 117th Territorial Defense Brigade began to form, Volodymyr joined its ranks. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the territorial defense serviceman stood to defend his hometown. On February 24, 2022, there was a combat confrontation between Ukrainian servicemen and a column of Russian troops on Kyivska Street in the city of Okhtyrka. The enemy retreated into a forest belt near the "BVS" gas station from the damaged vehicles. The group of the 154th battalion, which included Captain Lysenko, formed a chain and moved towards the retreating Russians. Volodymyr was at the far left flank of the formation. After returning from the mission, it became clear that Volodymyr was missing, and he did not answer phone calls. Only after 8 days was his body found in the forest near an old bomb shelter. The location of his death was indicated by a captured Russian soldier. Volodymyr Lysenko was shot by the Russians.Burial place
