Volodymyr I. Voitiuk

Senior Lieutenant Volodymyr Voitiuk was killed on April 24, 2023, defending positions near the city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region. The officer's life was cut short by enemy mortar fire. The defender was 41 years old. Volodymyr was born and lived in the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. He graduated from the Sloviansk Aviation and Technical School and the military department in parallel. In civilian life, he was engaged in entrepreneurial activity - car leasing. He started the business together with his brother, who later was killed in a car accident. After that, the man independently managed the business, even from the front. He got married and raised sons. He very much wanted his family to have the best. With the start of the full-scale war, the man decided to defend Ukraine from the Russian invaders. In June 2022, he was mobilized into the ranks of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Koshovy Otaman Ivan Sirko. He was a platoon commander. Together with the unit, he defended the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. "My brother was a very brave man, a true patriot who was ready to give his life for the freedom of his family, city, and country. He courageously endured all the hardships of the war, always going into battle. Comrades-in-arms remembered him as a person who could listen and understand," said the deceased's brother Ivan. The hero was buried in his hometown. Volodymyr is survived by his parents, brother, sister, wife, and two sons.
