- Senior Sergeant Volodymyr Filinsky was killed in action on April 1, 2022, while defending the Kyiv region. He sustained fatal injuries during a battle near the village of Oliva and was initially considered missing in action. In March, the defender turned 52. Volodymyr hails from the Zhytomyr region. He lived and received his education in the village of Sobolivka. Since 1996, he has worked as a lumberjack in the Bykivske forestry. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in unit A0362 and was the chief sergeant of the platoon. Together with his fellow soldiers, he defended the Kyiv region from the occupiers from the first days of the great war. "He belongs to the number of men who love their native Ukraine like sons. That's why he immediately defended her during the bloody hour of war. During the shelling, he carried out the body of a fellow soldier for a proper burial," his daughter Tetyana said. "A man of extraordinary courage. He enjoyed unquestionable authority among his fellow soldiers. He always helped less experienced soldiers. He was an example of courage and professionalism," the deceased's commander noted. The defender was buried in the village of Sobolivka in the Zhytomyr region. Volodymyr is survived by his mother, brothers, sisters, wife, and two children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
