Volodymyr K. Polka

Soldier Volodymyr Polka was killed on May 13, 2024 near the village of Makiivka, Luhansk region. The defender was only 40 years old. Volodymyr was from the village of Rudnya, Kyiv region. In civilian life, he worked for over 20 years at the Kyiv-Passenger locomotive depot. Recently, he was a 5th class rolling stock repair mechanic. Volodymyr was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January 2024. "He was a patriot of his country. He was responsible in his work, always stood for the truth, was honest, fair and never afraid to express his opinion," his railway colleagues said about the fallen fighter. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, his wife and daughter were waiting for Volodymyr.
