- Combat medic Vladimir Andriychenko was killed in action on March 16, 2022, in his native Chernihiv region. The serviceman was driving to evacuate wounded comrades when his car came under fire. Russian troops struck the car despite its medical markings. Vladimir Andriychenko served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the second wave of mobilization in 2015. In 2016, he returned home, started building a private house, and enrolled in the Sumy Higher Artillery Command School. On February 23, 2022, Vladimir Andriychenko, as a reserve lieutenant, was called up to the Chernihiv military enlistment office. He was assigned to the medical platoon of the 1st Separate Tank Siver Brigade. On March 10, the serviceman turned 37. It was then that he last spoke with his father Leonid. Six days later, Vladimir and his comrade went on a mission and came under heavy fire. The soldiers stopped the car and tried to hide in a ditch, but a rocket-propelled anti-tank grenade hit the car. The car was completely burned. For another two weeks, comrades could not retrieve the body due to heavy shelling. Finally, the father dared to search for his son's body on his own. Relatives put military uniforms and Ukrainian embroidery in the coffin. And also - a Cossack saber, which belonged to Vladimir. "For the third time, my birthday is spent not in a family circle, but among comrades. The previous two were on Donbas, today - in the hero city of Chernihiv. And now I would like to thank everyone who has somehow contributed to the fight. Together to the end. P.S. I will put beer on Red Square in Moscow on Victory Day for my birthday," Vladimir wrote on his Facebook. The hero is survived by his wife, 13-year-old daughter, parents, and younger brother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
