After graduating from the Krasnodar Higher Military School in 1988, he served in the military in officer positions: head of a group (head of a section) of special communications at military unit 77191 (Semipalatinsk, Russian Federation); assistant to the chief of staff for secrecy regime in various military units; head of the post (center) of special communications in one of the military units. He served in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, holding positions from service officer to head of department. He participated in combat operations in the former Yugoslavia.Military service
