- Born on July 24, 1988, in the village of Panasivka, Kozyatyn district, Vinnytsia region. Since 1989, he lived in the village of Peremoha, Kozyatyn district. Volodymyr Chornous's parents were deprived of parental rights, so the boy was raised by his paternal grandparents. In 2005, he graduated from a general education school (now an educational and training complex) in the village of Peremoha. Since 2005, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2009, he graduated from the Kharkiv Air Force University named after Ivan Kozhedub (now Kharkiv National Air Force University named after Ivan Kozhedub, city of Kharkiv). Since 2009, he served in the 15th separate guards mountain infantry battalion of the 128th separate guards mountain infantry brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1778, city of Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region), with his last position being the commander of the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the fire support company. From spring-summer 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was a participant in the defense of the International Airport "Luhansk." On July 19, 2014, senior lieutenant Volodymyr Chornous, as part of a group of soldiers, left the International Airport "Luhansk" to meet a column that was moving towards them with reinforcements. During the movement, the Ukrainian fighters came under artillery fire from militants. As a result of the shelling, senior lieutenant Volodymyr Chornous was killed. On July 23, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Kozyatyn, Kozyatyn district, Vinnytsia region, from where his wife hails.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
