Volodymyr M. Drozd

Born on July 3, 1991, in the city of Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi region. In 2007, he graduated from the 9th grade of general education school No. 6 in Slavuta, then attended the Slavuta Professional Lyceum and obtained the specialty of "driver-electrician." From October 14, 2010, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a cadet in the 169th Training Guards Zvenyhorodskyi Red Banner and Suvorov Center of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0665, the urban-type settlement of Desna, Kozelets district, Chernihiv region). Then he was a driver-electrician in the communications department of the 47th ammunition storage arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1358, the village of Tsvitokha, Slavuta district, Khmelnytskyi region). From August 2015, he was a senior driver of the motorized infantry company of the 17th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit field post V2304). From August 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On January 30, 2016, soldier Drozd was killed as a result of a mortar shelling by Russian-terrorist groups targeting Ukrainian military positions near the urban-type settlement of Zaitseve, Horlivka city council (now Bakhmut district) in Donetsk region. On February 2, 2016, he was buried in the cemetery of the city of Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi region.
