Volodymyr M. Dziuba (Rudyi)

Senior soldier Volodymyr Dziuba (call sign Rudyi) was killed on November 2, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The defender received fatal injuries during a mortar shelling. He was 30 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Strilnyky in the Chernihiv region. He obtained a profession as an electric welder at the Konotop Higher Vocational School. He completed his mandatory military service and then worked in the patrol police of Kyiv. In 2015-2016, he participated in the ATO in Donbas. After demobilization, he returned home and got a job as a maintenance worker at the communal enterprise "Bakhmatske." From the first days of the full-scale invasion by Russian occupiers, Volodymyr stood up to defend his homeland. He fought as part of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Konstantyn Ostrozky. He was a gunner of the BMP-2. "My husband was a very kind person and a great patriot of his country. He always helped everyone, never refusing anyone," said the wife of the fallen soldier, Maria. The serviceman was buried in his native village of Strilnyky. Volodymyr is survived by his wife and two children.
