Biography
Kokhanskyy Volodymyr Mykhailovych was born on June 4, 1966, in the village of Dobrovody, Uman district, Cherkasy region. He served in the Air Force, holding the position of senior inspector-pilot at the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Force. At dawn on February 24, 2022, with the beginning of the large-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Volodymyr Kokhanskyy was one of the first to take to the sky to intercept enemy aircraft. His plane never returned to its home airfield from that flight. The Ukrainian pilot covered the capital of Ukraine from the sky. The Ukrainian defender was seen off on his last journey on May 6, 2022, in his native village in the Uman region. For personal courage and selfless actions, displayed in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, Volodymyr Mykhailovych Kokhanskyy was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree (posthumously).Burial place
