Volodymyr M. Momotok (Mamont)

43-year-old Sergeant Volodymyr Momotok was killed on August 20, 2022 in a hospital in Cherkasy from wounds received during the defense of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. Volodymyr was born in the village of Chakva, Rivne region. He lived in the village of Antonivka. He graduated from school there. Later, he obtained a higher education as a technologist at the Kherson National Technical University. He served in the military. He worked in Kyiv, but eventually returned to Antonivka. In his free time, he loved to fish. In 2015-2017, the man participated in the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation) in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. He was a gun commander. In 2019, he went on a contract service in the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. A year later, he was discharged. When the full-scale war began, Volodymyr went to the army for the third time. This time, he fought against the invaders as part of the 68th separate hunter's brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The last 4 months of his service were spent near Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. "He was very kind, sensitive. He loved Ukraine very much, so he went to defend it as a volunteer in 2022 without hesitation. He was a storm trooper, fought in the Vuhledar direction. That's where he was wounded..." - said the deceased's sister Oksana. The hero was buried in his native village. Volodymyr left behind three sisters and a daughter.
