Volodymyr M. Ryzhko

Junior Sergeant Volodymyr Ryzhko was killed in action on March 21, 2022, during combat operations in Luhansk region. He was 48 years old. Volodymyr was born in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. After finishing school, he immediately started working. He first worked as a paramedic at the Kryvyi Rih Psychological Dispensary. Then he worked at various industrial enterprises. In 2006, he started working as a drilling rig operator at the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant. On February 28, 2022, after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russian military in Ukraine, he was mobilized into the ranks of the 17th Separate Tank Brigade named after Kostyantyn Pestushko. He held the position of commander of the engineering and sapper unit. Together with his unit, he went to the front lines of Donbas. According to the memories of friends and colleagues, Volodymyr was a very kind person, a good friend who could always support in difficult times. Colleagues noted that it was pleasant to work with him, as Volodymyr was a specialist in his field. He succeeded in everything he undertook. The defender was buried in his native Kryvyi Rih. Volodymyr is survived by his wife Marina and three sons: Nazar, Zakhar, and Rostyslav.
