- Senior Sergeant Volodymyr Shvets (call sign Bravo) was killed on October 19, 2022, during offensive actions near the village of Pyatykhatky in the Kherson region. He was considered missing for about a month. After the de-occupation of Kherson, his body was found in a mass grave. The warrior was forever 32 years old. Volodymyr was born in the village of Nova Misto in the Cherkasy region. He graduated from Monastyryshche School No. 2 and Vinnytsia Police School. He was well-rounded and interested in everything. He loved fishing and life. Before the invasion, he worked in Poland as a foreman of tractor drivers in strawberry fields. He was a single father raising a daughter whom he adored and always tried to protect from everything. When the full-scale war began, he returned from abroad and joined the ranks of defenders on April 27, 2022. He served in the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the chief sergeant of a mechanized platoon in the 96th battalion. He bravely and courageously carried out complex combat missions, earning respect among his comrades and the command. During his service, the soldier was awarded the Ministry of Defense badge "Sign of Honor." "My son raised his daughter Victoria by himself. However, this did not stop him from pursuing his desire to defend Ukraine during its most difficult time. Volodymyr did not hide, nor did he look for excuses to avoid joining the Armed Forces. After rehabilitating from his injuries, he returned to his unit and continued fighting the enemy. His account includes a significant amount of destroyed equipment, including 5 drones shot down. Volodymyr was fearless and always the first in everything: in battle, in offense, in defense. While in the combat zone, my son never complained about anything. He never said it was hard for him. On the contrary, he constantly supported his comrades," said Lyubov Shvets. "Volodymyr was a very kind, sincere, brave, and cheerful person, but this cursed war takes the best. Now he is our hero," added his cousin Yulia Demyanchuk. Volodymyr is buried in the cemetery of the village of Narayivka in the Vinnytsia region, where his parents live. The defender is survived by his parents, daughter, other relatives, friends, and comrades.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
